Hershey's Chocolate World is preparing for an extensive autumn celebration for the 2026 fall season, introducing an array of themed culinary items, family entertainment, and a landmark attraction update at its flagship location in Hershey, Pennsylvania, with select offerings also arriving at its Times Square venue in New York City.
Operating from September 12 through November 1, the destination is leaning heavily into seasonal festivities by coupling interactive experiences with limited-edition confectionery releases. The multimonth event is designed to appeal to both casual visitors and dedicated chocolate fans looking for immersive autumn programming.
The focal point of this year's seasonal calendar is an unprecedented update to the complex's signature dark ride. For the first time in its operational history, Hershey's Chocolate Tour is receiving a dedicated Halloween overlay to celebrate the holiday season.
Running across the full event window from September 12 to November 1, the thematic makeover will primarily transform the Barnyard section of the tour. Guests riding through the area will encounter glowing carved pumpkins, twinkling seasonal light displays, autumn decorations, and animatronic farm animals—including cows and pigs—dressed in festive Halloween costumes.
Industry observers note that introducing a temporary overlay is a practical method to generate renewed excitement for an established signature ride. By giving the familiar Barnyard segment a lighthearted holiday makeover, the attraction offers a fresh incentive for returning travelers while keeping the core experience intact for newcomers.
In tandem with the ride transformation, the venue's brand mascots are joining the celebration in full costume. Popular characters including Hersh, Reese, and Kiss will appear throughout the facility in seasonal outfits for meet-and-greet sessions and photo opportunities.
Family-oriented programming remains a central pillar of the seasonal schedule, anchored by the return of the annual Trick-or-Treat Trail. Running concurrently from September 12 through November 1, the candy trail is open exclusively to children aged 12 and younger.
The experience is split between the retail entertainment complex and the adjacent amusement park. Young guests can collect treats across four dedicated candy stops located inside Hershey's Chocolate World, while visitors holding admission to neighboring Hersheypark can access six additional stations, creating a 10-stop route across both adjoining properties.
To foster an inclusive environment for all guests, Hershey's Chocolate World has scheduled the return of its Sensory Friendly Night on October 21. Taking place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the two-hour evening session is tailored specifically for individuals with sensory processing sensitivities.
During this specialized window, attractions throughout the building will run with lowered sound volumes and modified sensory elements. Guests attending the evening event will still enjoy full access to character meet-and-greets and trick-or-treating in a calibrated, low-stimulation environment.
Complementing the entertainment lineup is a broad collection of specialty food offerings that incorporate the company's trademark brands into autumn-themed desserts. Among the headlining sweets is the Caramel Apple Parfait with KIT KAT Count, which layers tart apple mousse with caramel-coated apples, whipped topping, Hershey's Caramel Syrup, and chopped candy pieces, finished with a whole KIT KAT Count Bar.
Bakery teams have also introduced the KIT KAT Pumpkin Cheesecake, featuring a spiced pumpkin base resting on a house-made crust crafted from Hershey's S'mores Graham Crackers, garnished with whipped topping and a Kit Kat bar. For traditionalists, the bakery is offering the Hershey's Nuggets Pumpkin Spice Pie, which fills a flaky pastry crust with spiced pumpkin filling, whipped topping, fall spices, and a Pumpkin Spice Latte Nugget.
The seasonal drink menu brings its own inventive twists to trending beverage styles. Notably, the attraction is serving the Hershey's Caramel Apple Dirty Soda, a beverage combining Starry lemon-lime soda with Jolly Rancher Green Apple puree and caramel syrup, all topped with a layer of dense sweet foam.
Milkshake enthusiasts are presented with two distinct seasonal options at the beverage counters. The Hershey's Nuggets Pumpkin Spice Latte Milkshake blends vanilla ice cream, pumpkin pie filling, milk, and caramel syrup, accented by whipped cream, warm spices, a caramel drizzle, and a Pumpkin Spice Nugget. For guests who prefer to avoid pumpkin flavors, the Hershey's Special Dark Milkshake offers an alternative made with chocolate ice cream, chocolate milk, and Special Dark Syrup.
Adult visitors aged 21 and older visiting the Pennsylvania flagship can also choose from a seasonal specialty cocktail menu. Among the featured alcoholic offerings is the Salted Caramel Spiked Apple Cider, which combines warm apple cider with Crown Royal Vanilla Whisky, salted caramel vodka, and Hershey's Caramel Syrup, alongside fruit-forward choices such as a Jolly Rancher Apple-infused beverage.
Running through early November, the comprehensive 2026 fall roster demonstrates Hershey's Chocolate World's continued strategy of turning the autumn calendar into a major experiential draw by blending interactive entertainment with seasonal confectionery innovation.
