Arizona Lottery Announces Results for Sept. 9, 2026 Powerball and State Draw Games

The Arizona Lottery completed its scheduled series of drawings on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026, giving lottery participants across the state a fresh set of winning combinations for several major games. The evening lineup included the multi-state Powerball drawing along with Arizona's prominent in-state games, offering players various opportunities to cash in on secondary prizes or claim top-tier jackpots.

For the Wednesday night Powerball drawing, the winning white ball numbers were selected as 09, 40, 42, 55, and 65. The red Powerball number drawn for the evening was 23, and the Power Play multiplier for the drawing was established at 2X.

In Arizona's flagship in-state draw game, The Pick, the six winning numbers selected for the Sept. 9 drawing were 02, 08, 09, 18, 20, and 40. Ticket holders across the state are encouraged to verify their game boards against this sequence to determine if they matched enough numbers to claim a prize payout.

Wednesday's drawing also produced winning results for Fantasy 5, where the five winning numbers drawn were 01, 02, 05, 20, and 39. This daily jackpot game requires participants to match the selected sequence to take home the top prize or smaller tiered payouts.

Rounding out the evening's state-specific drawings, the Pick 3 Evening winning sequence was drawn as 7-2-9. Concurrently, the Triple Twist game produced the winning combination of 02, 03, 04, 05, 26, and 38, providing another path for local players to check their tickets for potential returns.

Players participating in the multi-state Powerball game should note that drawings are conducted three times weekly, taking place on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday evenings at precisely 7:59 p.m. Arizona time. Within the state of Arizona, standard Powerball tickets are priced at $2 per play and are available for purchase at authorized retail terminals statewide.

The mechanics of Powerball require players to select a total of six numbers for each play. This involves choosing five distinct numbers from a field of 1 through 69 for the white balls, followed by one number from a field of 1 through 26 for the red Powerball. Players can either manually mark their chosen numbers on a standard paper play slip or opt for the terminal to randomly generate their selections.

A total of nine distinct prize tiers are available in every Powerball drawing. The grand prize is awarded to tickets that correctly match all five white balls plus the red Powerball. Matching all five white balls without the Powerball yields a standard second-tier prize of $1 million, while matching four white balls along with the red Powerball awards $50,000.

Lower-tier fixed prizes provide multiple additional ways for players to win back funds. A $100 prize is awarded for either matching four white balls alone or matching three white balls plus the red Powerball. Matching three white balls alone or two white balls plus the red Powerball results in a $7 prize, while matching one white ball plus the red Powerball or simply matching the red Powerball alone awards $4.

For an extra $1 per play, ticket buyers can activate the optional Power Play feature, which multiplies non-jackpot winnings by two, three, four, five, or ten times depending on the multiplier drawn. The maximum 10X multiplier is eligible to be selected during drawings when the advertised Powerball jackpot is $150 million or less.

Winners holding valid tickets have several avenues available to claim their rewards depending on the total prize value. All licensed Arizona Lottery retailers are authorized to redeem prizes up to $100 and have the discretion to pay out winnings up to $599. Any prize that exceeds $599 must be processed directly through the Arizona Lottery, either by mail or by visiting a designated lottery office in person.

To claim a prize by mail, players must mail the signed original winning ticket, a completed winner claim form, and a clear copy of a valid government-issued photo identification to P.O. Box 2913, Phoenix, AZ 85062. Participants are advised to sign the back of the ticket immediately upon winning to secure ownership.

Players wishing to claim prizes in person can visit several official regional locations. The Phoenix Arizona Lottery Office, situated at 4740 E. University Drive in Phoenix, operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding holidays, and has the authority to cash prizes of any size. Similarly, the Tucson Arizona Lottery Office at 2955 E. Grant Road in Tucson operates on the same weekday schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and can also process payouts of any amount.

Additional localized offices provide claim services with specific payout ceilings. The Phoenix Sky Harbor Lottery Office, located at Terminal 4 Baggage Claim at 3400 E. Sky Harbor Boulevard, is open Monday through Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and handles claims up to $49,999. In Kingman, an office located inside the Walmart at 3396 Stockton Hill Road operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and weekends from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., also cashing winning tickets valued up to $49,999.
